Tim Bacon has become executive chairman of Living Ventures with Jeremy Roberts stepping in to the role of group chief executive in a restructure of senior management.

Jeremy Roberts, who was formerly commercial director, is stepping in to the role Bacon held, while Paul Moran will remain as managing director of the Living Ventures Group brands.

Bacon, who has overseen the growth of the business since its inception in 1999 as chief executive, said: “Nothing much changes, I will still be leading from the front. Fundamentally the new structure gives me more time to think and develop the business by passing on a whole load of work from my desk to Jeremy’s and Paul’s. Sometimes three fits better into two than two!”

The group has set out plans to invest around £7m in Birmingham to launch its Alchemist and Gusto brands in the city next spring/summer.

It is also looking to open a Smugglers Cove and The Alchemist at the former James Brindley pub site in 2017.
