Loungers has announced it will open three new sites this month, taking its tally of new openings so far in 2016 to seven and its total estate to 82.

Castello Lounge in Wellingborough will be the first to open, on Wednesday, in a 4,800 sq ft former McDonalds site set over two floors. Nautico Lounge in Weymouth will open the following week in the Grade-II listed former Post Office, which totals 3,400 sq ft plus a 700 sq ft terrace.

The group will then open its 14th Cosy Club in Derby on 22 April. The Derby Cosy Club will occupy the entire first floor of the city’s Grade II-listed former Royal Hotel, which was most recently operated as a nightclub. Loungers are investing £950k into the site which will see a new ground floor entrance lobby located in a retail unit, opens up into the first floor space, including the former hotel’s grand 2,200 sq ft ballroom.

Loungers manging director Nick Collins said: “We’re set to open a trio of cracking sites in April in three diverse locations and in very different buildings.

“Our three Lounge openings so far in 2016, in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Hinckley and Newquay, have very nicely exceeded our expectations and our Cosy Club in Hereford has got off to an absolute flyer. The potential scale of both brands is extremely exciting”.

The group is understood to have a fully-formed pipeline of new openings in 2016 and has already secured a number of new sites for 2017.

Lounge openings for 2016 include sites in Loughborough, Monmouth, Lichfield, Corby, Derby, Mumbles, Telford and Mere Green and it is understood details of two additional 2016 Cosy Club openings will be confirmed soon.
