Gareth Lloyd-Jones, the former chief executive of Gourmet Holdings, who currently operates three food-led pubs in London, is backing a the launch of a new pub venture in Berkshire.
Lloyd-Jones is backing Bens Pub Company, which is led by chef Ben Smith. The group will open its first site, the George Inn in Wraysbury, this spring after a refurbishment of the site.
The former chief executive of Gourmet Holdings, which previously ran the Bel and Dragon gastropub estate and Richoux restaurants, currently operates the Canonbury pub and restaurant in Islington, the Spencer in Putney, and the Althorp in Wandsworth.
