Late Knights founder Steve Keegan has told M&C Report that the company is adding a brasserie to its latest opening – the Ravensgate Arms in Ramsgate, Kent.

Keegan said work was currently underway to create a 40 to 50 cover dining area above the pub, as part of a drive towards a more premium food offer for the currently five-strong operator.

He told M&C Report: “We’re pretty serious about food and we want to do it properly but we recognise that what we have currently, although it is decent, is very much a bar menu and we were keen to up our game. The next stage, when we open in Penge and working upstairs in Ramsgate, is to get a really good, well-rounded food offer.

“The best pub I ever went to was when I was in Middlesbrough, called the Dudley Arms. It had the perfect bar menu and full blow restaurant menu and that’s the type of thing I have always wanted to do. So, we will have good old fashioned bar food but we will also have a separate menu for upstairs that will offer the full range.”
