Marc Craddock, managing director of Charnwood Pub Company, has told MCA the final three pubs in the estate should be sold by the end of April.

Backers Albion Ventures put the then nine-strong chain up for sale last summer. Sites have been taken on by Derby Pub Co, Amber Taverns and Albion stablemate Bravo Inns. The other pubs were sold to individual buyers.

Craddock said the remaining three coaching inns were currently in legals with individual buyers.

He told MCA: “I came in with the aim of halting a slide here and ensuring a successful exit so it’s job done really. Albion have been in this for ten years, which is a long time for a VC and so were keen to exit.

“The sectors we have seen good increases has been the destinational food and coaching inns. Where we struggled was the smaller, village locations.”

Craddock, who previously worked for Timothy Taylor and Spirit, said he would weigh up future moves after the sales of the final pubs have gone through.
