The company that owns the Liverpool bars Korova and Babycream has gone into administration, according to reports. KVRP, formerly known as Korova Corporation, called in the administrators last month. The two bars, which are both still open for business have been put up for sale by the administrators, according to the Liverpool Daily Post. The future of some of the other Korova-run bars – owned by director Robert Gutman – are also in doubt. The Circo and Raven bars at the city's Albert Docks appear to be open as normal. But four other bars – the Geisha bar and three other venues in Woolton appear to be closed. Steven Williams, of administrator Begbies Traynor in Preston, saidGutmann and fellow director Jon Ritchie were still operating Korova and Babycream as going concerns while the administrators tried to find buyers. He said: “It’s still early days, but sale is a likelihood in due course. There’s no sale as yet, but the former directors are trying to put a deal together to acquire them back from us.” Korova Corporation’s website lists eight Liverpool bars as “Korova Corp. Venues” – Circo, Geisha, Korova, Babycream, Negresco Sud in Lark Lane, and three Woolton venues – Casa del Cocodrilo, Fargo and Negresco Deco It also lists Negresco Nord in Manchester, but reports in Manchester say it has been closed and the business sold. No one from Korova Corporation was available to comment.
