Bristol-based games bar concept Kongs is to continue its expansion push with an opening in Birmingham later this year.

The group, which had originally lined up an opening in Bennetts Hill in the city, will now open on the former The Chameleon bar site in Victoria Square.

The company opened a 900-capacity venue in Cardiff’s St Mary’s Street before Christmas 2017.

Customers are able to play classic 1990s arcade games, including Donkey Kong, as well as ping pong and table football. There is also an “anything goes” music policy.

The concept also runs pop-up kitchens to vary its food offer.

Kongs, which is led by Toby Stringer and Max Pioli, opened its first site in Kings Street, Bristol, in October 2014.
