The former head of Punch Taverns’ leased division Deborah Kemp has left De Vere Hotels after an 11-month tenure, writes Paul Charity. Kemp, who was chief operating officer at De Vere Hotels, is now chief executive of LM Funerals, where former Punch Taverns chief executive Stephen Lambert is non-executive chairman. LM Funerals is an independent company with more than 50 branches — one of the largest independent funeral services companies in the UK. It has acquired a series of established funeral businesses within the UK with support from private equity firm Sovereign Capital Partners, and Royal Bank of Scotland. LM Funerals provides central management expertise from its Head Office in Wolverhampton in the areas of finance, IT, HR, training, marketing, operating standards and health and safety. A field team supports branch staff enabling them to concentrate on "providing excellence in funeral service and client care".
