Islington Townhouse, the Hippo Inn bar and restaurant near Chapel Market, is allowing direct exchange between local producers and the community by hosting a Food Assembly every Tuesday evening from the 7 March.

The Food Assembly was started in December 2010 by two friends in France who wanted to create a more efficient local food distribution network, and help support farmers and producers supplying local high quality produce directly to the community.

The Food Assembly is already present in 15 boroughs across London, and provide a space for the community to come together and talk food.

Members will be able to pre-order their food online and collect it from the Islington Town House and meet producers and find out where their food has come from.
