Dougal Sharp, the founder of Innis & Gunn, has told MCA he would like to replicate the group’s successful partnership with G1 Group in expanding its Beer Kitchen concept across the UK.
The Scottish brewer and pub operator has today unveiled a £1m crowdfunding push through Crowdcube aimed at adding another four Beer Kitchens in Scotland.
Sharp said the sites, which will include a brewpub in Glasgow, would again see a partnership with G1 Group.
He said: “It’s worked brilliantly. Not only do we get access to a great estate of sites but we also get the benefit of their expertise in the industry.
“The next four sites will all be in Scotland but we are very keen to move south and we’d like to work with partners in the same way we have with G1.”
The group currently operates two Beer Kitchens – in Edinburgh and Dundee – with a third to open in the former Glass House restaurant in St Andrew later this month.
The AdventureCapital fundraise will also allow the group to expand beer production at the recently acquired Inveralmond Brewery in Perth, Scotland, now named the Innis & Gunn Brewery. Production volume is forecast to triple in the next two years to thirty thousand hectolitres It will also instal a barrel ageing hall and new filtration technology.
AdventureCapital sees the brewery selling 2% of its share capital, with a minimum investment of £10.
As part of the raise, each of Innis & Gunn’s 57 employees were the first to be given shares in the business.
