Inception Group, operator of the Mr Fogg’s concept, is understood to be in line to take on the former Cinnamon Soho site, which recently closed, MCA understands.

It is unclear whether Inception will look to launch a new concept at the Kingly Street site or convert it to one of its existing brands. It currently operates Cahoots bar in the nearby Kingly Court.

The 10-strong Group, which is led by Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, recently secured new funding from OakNorth to aid the roll out of its Mr Fogg’s concept.

Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals will open in Fitzrovia in June (ex-Dickie Fitz site), Mrs Fogg’s in Broadgate Circle in September (ex-Crab Tavern site), with Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration opening near the Strand in September.

The three new sites mark the largest expansion for the group to date, doubling the size of it’s Around The World in 80 Days inspired concept, with further Mr Fogg’s to follow in 2019.

Cinnamon Soho opened in Kingly Street in 2012.

A statement on its website said: “We have to confess to being a little sad to inform you that our time has come to an end in Soho, but we’ve loved being there and hope to find a new site soon, (you’ll be the first to know we promise), but in the meantime do visit our nearby sister restaurant Cinnamon Bazaar, in Covent Garden.”
