Young’s has taken a different direction from its typical pub with the opening of The Bishop’s Vaults, a new wine bar in the heart of the city.

Located on Swedeland Court in Bishopsgate, behind Young’s pub Dirty Dicks, it is set across two floors, comprising of a 50-cover ground-floor bar, with a further 100-covers in the basement, open for walk-ins, bookings and for private hire.

Previously Boisdale of Bishopsgate, the space has been transformed into an intimate bar, offering a premium wine list, along with a selection of cheese and charcuterie plates, sourced from British suppliers.

Once an underground cellar, the speakeasy-style bar has been designed to create a hideaway with dimmed lighting and a deep blue and orange palette, whilst also paying homage to its history with original features.

The design includes exposed brick walls, an eclectic mix of artwork, a long statement marble bar with brass detailing and arched doorways, while the old vaults have been converted into intimate booths with leather seating.

The menu features premium wines from across the globe, including the Italian Masi Amarone and Ferraton Condrieu from France, along with champagne and sparkling wines.
