Farmer J, the health-focussed fast casual concept, has secured £1.9m of investment capital to support its London expansion.

The investment, supported by Imbiba, alongside existing shareholders and business angels, comes as the group prepares to open its third site – in Canary Wharf’s Canada Place - next month.

Jonathan Recanati, founder and chief executive of Farmer J, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Imbiba. Their operational experience and sector expertise comes at a key time for us and this new investment will accelerate our growth across London.”

The rest of the Farmer J team includes creative chef Nick Sandler, former development chef at Pret a Manger; Noel D’Arcy as operations director; Ali Recanati as marketing director, and Kevin Todd, non-executive director and former group managing director of M&B.
