Humble Grape, the wine and events company, is to start the rollout of its technology-driven wine bar and shop concept, with the launch of a flagship site in the City of London, M&C understands.

The company, which was founded in 2009 by James Dawson, is set to open a site at 1 St Brides Passage at the turn of the year.

Last year, Dawson said that the company, which raised c£356k through a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs to begin the launch of the format, would look to eventually grow an estate of up to 60 sites under the concept as it looked to become the “Starbucks of wine shops”.

The company opened its first shop under the concept in Battersea Rise earlier this year as a pilot site and hopes to add a further four sites within the next five years.
