Ei Group has announced that the High Court has sanctioned the scheme of arrangement for the Stonegate deal.

With the effective date for the completion on 3 March, the group has confirmed that trading in its shares will be suspended from the 2 March.

Earlier this month, the CMA announced that it had passed the proposed Stonegate/Ei deal.

Once it goes through, the acquisition will see Stonegate become the largest operator of pubs in the UK, with a total estate of around 5,000 sites.
