Heavitree Brewery, the Devon-based brewer and pub operator, has placed two of its sites, the Pen Inn in Newton Abbot and the Lysley Arms in Chippenham, on the market. The leasehold of the Pen Inn managed pub, which features a 92-cover bar, 66-cover restaurant and two beer gardens, is up for sale for £80,000 with annual rent of £85,000. Offers for the Lysely Arm managed house, which comprises a 55-cover main restaurant and a 28-cover conservatory eating area, are being sought with an asking price of £40,000 with a rent of £38,000 per annum. The move follows an announcement by the company at the end of last year about plans to do away with its managed estate. As part of a strategic review, the group said that it had decided to transfer 20 of its managed pubs to its tenanted and leased division. Christie & Co are marketing the sites.
