Hawthorn Leisure, the pub group backed by May Capital, has appointed Andrew Parker, formerly of Enterprise Inns, as its new operations director.

Parker joins the c375-strong company after nearly four years with Enterprise, where he was retail operations manager responsible for overseeing the development and rollout of its Beacon managed tenancy agreement.

Parker joins ex-Enterprise managing director Gerry Carroll and Mark McGinty, former division director, at the group, which is thought to be running the rule over Bravo Inns.

Hawthorn Leisure was formed in November 2013 to acquire pubs from across the UK and initially acquired 275 pubs from Greene King.

Last October, it completed the acquisition of Nectar Taverns, the operator of 25 pubs in the north west, in a deal understood to be valued at £10m.

May Capital founder Noah Bulkin told M&C Report last year that up to 2,000 existing pubs could fit the criteria for Hawthorn Leisure.
