Shares in Greene King, the brewer and pub operator, leapt 20 % yesterday on the back of its interim management statement. The stock climbed 19.69% to 421p, captalising the company at £473.3m. The sentiment spread to other companies from the pubs sector, albeit less dramatically. Shares in Mitchells & Butlers rose 7.8% to 186.5p, Marston’s was up 6.6% to 104.75p and JD Wetherspoon was up 6.1% to 346.5p.
