Greene’s King next conversion to its Realpubs format is set to be the Prince of Wales in Hampton Court, south London.

The pub is to open on 5 March. Greene King said: “The pub will comprise a spacious bar, fully serviced dining room and a fantastic outside garden space. There will be an outside kitchen serving the garden areas in season allowing for varying food offerings throughout the year.

“The pub will target a young professional and aspirational market audience.”

At its full-year results in December, Greene King said it expects a further four sites to be developed from Greene King to Realpubs in the remainder of the financial year; the four transferred so far have performed “well above expectations”.

Chief executive Rooney Anand told M&C Report at the time: “We are very pleased with how Realpubs has performed. It’s a very strong addition to our portfolio.” He said the company has a “number more to do in London and the south east”, with Greene King “focused very heavily” in London. However, he reiterated his view that it’s a concept that could work outside the capital.
