Greene King has acquired the Island in West London, a pub first designated as a Capital Pub Company acquisition, for sum in excess of the £2m asking price. It is understood that the then 34-strong Capital has agreed to acquire the Kensal Rise-based pub before its £70m acquisition by Greene King earlier this year. “By the time the sale completed Greene King were the equally enthusiastic signatories,” said AG&G director James Grimes, who acted on behalf of the vendor. “It’s a great position in a fashionable area, has good outside space and a reputation for its food, so it’s an excellent fit. “It also shows that there’s always demand for the right property at the right price, especially in London.”
