Nottingham-based pub operator Great Northern Inns has secured its ninth site with a £1m restaurant in the city’s Bolero Square.

The group has taken a 20-year lease on Saltbox, which was relaunched in April this year by the Iacovitti family, the operators of Nottingham’s Pizzeria Savai.

Great Northern Inns director David Willans said: “As a business, we are always on the lookout for the next opportunity and, with Saltbox’s location, we knew it would be the ideal addition to our list of popular venues. While we plan to keep much of the layout and decor the same, we will be making some changes to put our mark on it.”

Earlier this year, the company opened The Old Flower Shop in Mapperley and refurbished and rebranded its The Approach venue to create the second Southbank Bar, a sports bar and live music venue in Friar Lane.
