Further closures of pubs operated by Bramwell are expected after another six of the group’s sites were closed and placed on the market, following the company being placed into administration last week.

Last week, 29 of the group’s pubs were closed and placed on the market with Christie + Co, which is understood to be marketing the latest six to be shut.

M&C Report understands that at least a further five closures are close to being announced, which would take the total number of sites to be brought to the market since Zolfo Cooper were appointed as administrators to Bramwell to over 40.

While Stonegate Pub Company is in advanced talks to acquire c80 of Bramwell’s best performing sites, the future of the remainder of the company’s c65 sites remains in doubt, with one option believed to be the current management team led by Roger Moxham launching a new business to take them on.

Zolfo Cooper was appointed as joint administrators to the company, which underwent a restructure and appointed a new management team led by former Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) executive Moxham little more than a year ago, last Thursday.

It is now inviting parties wishing to make an expression of interest in certain sites to contact them.

Administrators were appointed after the group experienced cash flow problems arising from the “current challenging economic environment”.
