Four County Inns has bought the freehold Swan Inn in Stroud off an asking price of £175,000 plus VAT.

After the property failed to sell in auction, Fleurets were instructed to continue marketing. The site sold to Four County Inns who viewed on Friday, exchanged contracts on the following Monday, completing a week after viewing.

Chris Irving from Fleurets said: “We were pleased to see the willingness of parties to proceed swiftly to exchange and completion outside the auction forum.  It is understood Four County Inns will refurbish and reopen the premises as a public house.”

The Swan Inn, in Union Road, provides a split level open plan bar with 11 rooms on first and second floors.
