Foundation Inns has appointed former Punch Taverns and Luminar finance director, Robert McDonald as a non-executive director.
McDonald replaces Neil Peston, who stepped down at the end of May, on the board.
Co-founder Gavin Drew told M&C: “Robert has extensive experience in the industry and will pro-actively help us plan our strategic direction over the next few years.”
Drew told M&C that trading had been strong in the first quarter of the current financial year, which began in April. After adjusting for the Kings Head and Bell in Abingdon, which was closed for a minor development in May 2015, the other sites have reported collective like-for-like sales growth of 8%. Drew said that in the six weeks since it re-opened , the Kings Head and Bell has reported 11% year-on-year sales growth.
