A package of four freehold pubs, currently or previously operated by chef Marco Pierre White, have been placed on the market.

The four pubs – The Talbot Inn, Ripley, Surrey; the Carnarvon Arms, in Burghclere, Berkshire; the Horse & Groom, Charlton, Wiltshire and the Black Boy Inn, Banbury – have been out up for sale by the Royal Bank of Scotland. The final three pubs currently operate under the high profile chef’s Wheeler’s of St James’s banner.

All the sites, which were previously owned by Merchant Inns, are available freehold with prices ranging from £625,000 to £4m.

Simon Stevens, hotels director at Christie + Co, said: “The quality and location of this portfolio of properties is unique in the current market place and we anticipate high levels of interest from both pub & hotel operators as well as property investors.”
