Flying Kiwi Inns has sold the Ship Hotel in Brancaster, North Norfolk, to the Chaplin Group, taking it down a solo site business.

The site has been operated by Flying Kiwi Inns, which also operates the Crown Hotel in Wells-next-the-Sea, since 2009.

The pub group had reached six sites in 2012, before two of its sites were acquired by Pickled Inns – a company set up by former Flying Kiwi Inns directors Colin Duckworth and Philip Parker.

The Chaplin Group owns Gonville Hotel in Cambridge and the Maids Head Hotel in Norwich.

Company director David Chaplin, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire The Ship Hotel. The Ship is already a very successful operation and it will fit well with our Cambridge and Norwich hotels where we appeal to discerning travellers seeking excellent service and elegant surroundings.”
