The three-strong Imbiba-backed operator has submitted a licensing application to the City of London for unit 11 on the ground floor of the building, for the sale of alcohol until 1am from Monday to Sunday, as well as the exhibition of films and recorded music.

According to the application, the opening hours to be from 8am to 1.30pm, seven days a week, which marks a change from the trading hours at its existing sites – the latest of which, at King William Street, is open until 10pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

Earlier this month Farmer J launched The Fancy Fork at its King William Street site, with Shuli Wimer of The River Café, taking over the kitchen at the site, offering dishes inspired by the Middle East and Mediterranean from 5.30pm onwards.

1 Finsbury Avenue, owned by British Land, has recently undergone redevelopment to take it from purely office space, to mixed-use retail and, leisure and flexible co-working office space.
