Dan Fox, former general manager of famous Mitchells & Butlers pub the White Horse in London’s Parsons Green, has secured his first site, which is set to operate as a brewpub under a new venture. Fox has secured at 25-year lease on Bull in Highgate under a new business called the London Brewing Company (LBC). The landlord is property owner Tonstate Group and a passing rent of £70,000 per year has been agreed, Davis Coffer Lyons handled the sale. The site is due to serve beers that have been brewed on site at the Grade II listed pub. LBC is due to invest several hundreds of thousands of pounds on the Bull, which is to re-open in the autumn. Fox said: “We are really pleased to offer a new lease of life for one of London’s oldest pubs. We believe we have a strong offer and can’t wait to show the local residence of Highgate their new feel local.” Chris Bickle of Davis Coffer Lyons said: “This opportunity attracted a vast amount of interest across various leisure sectors including from health and fitness and nurseries. However, it seems fitting that a site with over 500 years of history continues to trade as a pub at heart, with a unique brewing concept which we expect residents and visitors will really appreciate.” Fox’s business partner at LBC is Nick Campregher, who has a financial background.
