ETM Group, the London-based gastropub operator led by Tom and Ed Martin, is to open its first venue in London’s West End, after securing a site in Covent Garden, M&C Report has learnt.

The eight-strong group will open the Angel & Crown in St Martin’s Lane in early December.

The 3,500sq ft will include 60 covers, with ground floor operating as a traditional pub whilst the first floor feature an informal pub dining room where reservations will be taken for lunch, dinner, pre-and post theatre.

It will serve an all-day menu of seasonal British produce from select artisan producers, regional farmers and Billingsgate fish market.

Tom Martin said: “We are very much looking forward to establishing The Angel & Crown as a genuine gastropub - one that offers good food and good ale in a traditional pub setting.”

Earlier this year, the ETM Group, which was established in 2000, opened two new venues, including Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, in the Grade II listed Whitbread Brewery building in the City.

In May, the group disposed of the Empress of India in Victoria Park, east London, to Michael Burman, a former general manager for the now Greene King-owned pub company Realpubs.

AG&G acted on behalf of the landlord on the Covent Garden deal.
