Enterprise Inns has opened its 200th pub under the Beacon model.

The Red Lion, Frodsham, Cheshire, was the latest pub to open under the managed tenancy model.

The pub is operated by Matt Bonilla, who already operates two Beacon sites and now signed substantive agreements on a further two Beacon pubs in the Manchester area – The Levenshulme and The New Inn.

He said: “The Beacon model has had a transformational impact on these pubs and enabled me to breathe new life into sites that were struggling or closed. The support that ei publican partnerships provides gives me the confidence to invest in my business and allows me to focus fully on proving a great pub for the local community.”

“The marketing and retail standards support in particular ensures I can compete at a local level, engaging customers with our offer and has led me to tripling weekly turnover in one of the pubs.”

Beacon regional manager Derick Cooper said: “Matt is a great example of a successful multi-site operator who works closely with us to get the offer right to grow his business. He fully utilises the support available through the Beacon Partnership Agreement and his pubs continue to go from strength to strength.”

Commenting on the milestone, Mark Brooke, Divisional Director of Beacon, said: “The growing number of Beacon pubs underlines our commitment to delivering a significant support package for publicans and developing great community pubs that appeal to a variety of consumers.

“Because we are able to define and provide the product range, pricing and marketing, our publicans can really focus on making sure that they and their team deliver excellent customer service.”
