Tuppen received a basic salary of £640,000, £24,000 in benefits and £147,000 in a performance-related bonus. His salary included a supplement of £160,000 in lieu of a contribution to his personal pension scheme. His total remuneration for 2008 was £634,000. Simon Townsend, chief operating officer, received a basic salary of £384,000, £22,000 in benefits and a performance-related bonus of £69,000 — giving a total of £475,000. Townsend received £96,000 by way of a salary supplement in lieu of a contribution to his personal pension scheme. His remuneration for 2008 was £397,000. Finance director David George was paid a basic salary of £384,000, £23,000 in benefits and a performance-related bonus of £69,000 making a total of £476,000. He received a salary supplement of £96,000 in lieu of pension contributions. George’s remuneration for 2008 was £414,000. The bonuses will be paid as deferred share awards.
