Epic Pubs will today open its fifth site – the Knife & Cleaver in Houghton Conquest, Bedford – its second partnership with Charles Wells.

The pub also represents the second foray into accommodation for the group – which was headed by former Peach Pubs managing partner, Andrew Coath – with nine bedrooms.

The site will operate from 9am with an all-day menu featuring burgers, soups and sharing platters alongside separate breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

The company opened its first pub with Charles Wells in September – the Anchor in Aspley Guise, near Milton Keynes. It also operates the Golden Ball in Maidenhead, 185 Watling Street in Towcester, Northamptonshire and Mill Street Kitchen in Oakham, Rutland.

Earlier this year Coath told MCA that he expected to open a site every quarter for the short term.
