Two entrepreneurs have acquired the R52 wind tunnel building in Farnborough, Hampshire and plan to turn it into a restaurant, bar and events complex. Paul Hewett and Ian Hockerday have begun work in transforming one of the world’s earliest surviving wind tunnel buildings into a leisure venue that can cater for hundreds of people. The partners plan to maintain the wind tunnel and transform the buildings around it into a site offering quality beers and wine and gastro-pub style food. The venue will also include meeting facilities and background on the UK’s aeronautical heritage.
