Ei Publican Partnerships, Ei Group’s leased and tenanted business, has said it will distribute up to one million items of PPE throughout its pub estate ahead of reopening.

The support package will be worth £280,000 and will provide each pub with a free PPE starter kit containing disposable masks and gloves, hand sanitiser, and rolls of self-adhesive floor tape.

“The safety and wellbeing of our publicans is most paramount,” said Nick Light, Ei Publican Partnerships managing director.

“This additional £280,000 investment in PPE is just one of the many ways we are making sure our pubs can reopen from lockdown in a safe and sustainable manner while providing an enjoyable experience for customers.”

Over the past few months, the business has announced a series of changes to support its pub partners through the coronavirus pandemic.

In May it announced a financial support package for its leased and tenanted businesses – including a three-month rent credit for April to June - and has since launched a contactless ordering app, intended to safeguard publicans and customers.

Since being acquired by Stonegate in March, Ei Group comprises part of the largest pubco in the UK, with 1,270 pubs in its managed division, and 3,200 leased and tenanted sites.
