Urban Pubs and Bars is launching its Ping Pong themed pop up bar and café at Westfield Stratford City with some help from ex Geronimo Inns managing director, Ed Turner.

The company, led by Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap, is opening the Bat & Ball next week, featuring a floor of Ping Pong tables, VIP Ping Pong rooms for private hire and a lounge bar and deli.

During the day The Bat and Ball will cater to shoppers and families serving up coffee, pizzas and delicious artisan deli snacks. By evening the space will transform into a lively bar for groups to share jugs of premium cocktails, craft beers and food boards accompanied by live DJ sets and the unmistakable sound of the incredibly addictive Ping Pong.

Located on the Street in Westfield, The Bat and Ball is split across two floors. The ground floor is for eating, drinking, people watching and getting lively between a large central bar and the deli counter. The first floor will play host to the Players Lounge, 10 Ping Pong tables and a gaming room for the Ping Pong aficionado and their supporters.

Pring said: “The Bat and Ball is a brand new space that gives Westfield a unique destination venue, for families, shoppers and groups of friends late into the evenings. I think the interior is stunning, boasting a relaxed and informal vibe, working in tandem with our signature premium quality drinks and food selection. Ping Pong - you can’t go wrong - this will be a smash.”

Heap said: “Our team will be serving up food snacks and meals throughout the day to cater for all tastes. The menu offers a breadth of all day grazing options to run alongside a curated craft beer selection and a more traditional pint of Trumans. We’re serving food all day to the many tastes and types on show at Westfield; which has just got hipper!”

Turner was described as the project’s DPP (director of ping pong).
