Sorcha Drakeford has stepped down as operations director of Inns of Character, the pub with rooms brand from Thwaites, the Lancashire brewer and pub operator, M&C Report understands.

Drakeford joined the company in 2013 after two years at Spirit as a project manager. Previous to that she spent time at Punch as a business development manager and four years at Mitchells & Butlers as a retail business manager.

Thwaites hopes to grow its eight-strong Inns of Character to 20-25 within five years.

Andrew Buchanan, director of operation, said last year that new openings for the division would “predominantly” be sites with rooms or the potential to add to them.

Last summer, the company re-opened the Grade I listed Georgian townhouse Judge’s Lodging in York on after a six-month, £2.2m development programme.
