Draco Pub Company, the West Country-based group, which is led by ex-River Cottage head chef Tom Blake, is set to open its second site in Somerset, and it looking for further expansion opportunities.

The group, which was founded in 2011, has restored and reopened the White Hart in Sommerton. It now features a bar, dining area and eight en-suite rooms. It also operates the Swan, Wedmore

The company said: “Both pubs were pretty worn out and acquired from large pub groups. Both have been lovingly restored and rejuvenated to create award winning coaching inns with great rooms, bustling bars and fantastic restaurants.

“There is no room for any chain mentality at Draco Pub. Each pub is unique and relies primarily on being a valuable, busy and fun part of the local community.”

It is part of the Draco Group, the business run by Robert Greacen & James Brooke-Webb.

The group has a portfolio of investments in property, joint ventures and corporate investments, including River Cottage.
