Two former Mitchells & Butlers employees have formed a pub company called Innovations Pubs and made a double acquisition in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Anthony Mitchell and Edward Willson, who have plans to operate up to eight sites by the end of 2016, bought their first two pubs from Enterprise on a dual purchase totalling £220k.

The pubs are The Bootlegger and The Sausage Tree; the Bootlegger is an established craft beer and cask ale pub while The Sausage Tree is food-led with a speciality exotic sausage offering.

The Sausage Tree, which also has five letting bedrooms, has a menu that includes zebra, buffalo and alpaca sausages.

Both are set to undergo mini refurbishments which will not affect either pub continuing to trade.

Barry Alldread, sales director at Davey Co, which acted on the deal, said: “We are delighted that Innovation Pubs purchased their first pubs with us and we look forward to finding further suitable pubs for the company as they expand their operation.”
