Deben Inns, the Suffolk based pub operator, is to open its sixth site next month.

The family-run company, which was founded in 1992, has taken an Enterprise Inns lease of the Westerfield Swan on the outskirts of Ipswich. Company director Steve Lomas told M&C Report that the firm was not “actively looking” for new sites at the moment while the focus is on Westfield Swan, although he said it’s a case of “never say never”.

Deben Inns also runs pubs with Adnams and Wellington Pub Company, in addition to one freehold, the Fox at Woodbridge.

The company said its ethos is to “run individual pub/restaurants of quality and value with the emphasis on good food and service in informal and pleasant surroundings”. “Each business operates a different menu and each team of chefs are encouraged to put their own ideas into action so as to keep the pub individual and not feel as if it is part of a large unwieldy chain.”
