D&D London, the owner of restaurants such as Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour and Coq d’Argent, which is understood to be close to securing new investment from LDC, has announced further details of its two forthcoming restaurants and bars at the new Trinity Leeds development. Crafthouse and Angelica, which will be the group’s first openings in the UK, outside of London, will occupy the fifth and sixth floors of the luxury shopping and lifestyle development which opens its doors on 21 March. The former 144-cover unit will showcase the “very best British produce and take inspiration from the history of Leeds and Yorkshire”. With a wrap-around terrace and panoramic city views, Angelica will be a penthouse, all-day dining restaurant featuring a cocktail bar. LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Bank, is believed to be in the running to acquire D&D London for a sum of about £60m. A deal for the group, which operates over 30 restaurants, including outlets in Paris, New York and Tokyo, at present, is set to be sealed within weeks.
