D-R London, the team behind Clerkenwell pub The Blacksmith & The Toffeemaker, will look to expand further in the future having opened a second site in London’s Stoke Newington, called 125 Church Street, M&C Report has learnt.

The latest venue is an all-day café – bar with a nightclub space for hosting events. The two-story site has a capacity of 150 as well as an outdoor seating area that is being redeveloped for use in the summer.

Matthew Rix, co-founder and director of D-R London told M&C Report that he and business partner Marc Dalla-Riva are looking for further expansion in the future: “We are not looking for anything in the immediate future because finance and manpower are tied up but the future is bright and we will be looking for more aggressive acquisition targets in the future.”

Rix said the success of the pub in Clerkenwell gave D-R London the confidence and capital to embark on the new project at 125 Church Street, which has the same private investors as the first venue.

“This is off the back of the Blacksmith and the Toffee Makers which has hit its stride over the past 18 months so the next natural step was to get another place.”
