Cosmo, the Hertfordshire-based, pan-Asian restaurant operator, has acquired the former Walkabout site in Southampton. The company, which currently operates 12 sites across the south of England and Cardiff, has acquired the freehold of the city’s former Bank of England premises. It plans to open a new restaurant on the site in the next 18 months. The group, which is led by Tom Chan, recently opened its second site in Romford, Essex. The company, which was founded in 2003, plans to open further world cuisine restaurants in Birmingham, Derby, Manchester and Liverpool in the next three years. Christie + Co jointly acted behalf of an LPA Receiver appointed by the Bank of Ireland on the sale of the former Regent Inns property with DTZ.
