London-based bar and club operator Columbo Group has acquired the former MAMA & Co site, Barfly in Camden, MCA has learnt.
It follows the Steve Ball and Riz Shaikh-led group’s acquisition of another MAMA site, the Jazz café, in February. The company is also launching its first festival, Sunfall, this summer.
At one point there were eight sites operating under the Barfly banner but the original Camden venue is the last remaining.
It takes the group to 10 sites with the ambition of expanding by another site per year with a focus on growth of its currently three-strong Blues Kitchen model.
