Coffee Republic has signed a deal to take the concept to South Africa. Speciality Branded Retail has plans to open 18 outlets in the country over the next five years Tariq Affara, Coffee Republic’s chief executive, said: “These are exciting developments for us, and the tip of the iceberg in terms of our plans. “We have found excellent partners who share our values in South Africa, and we are in conversation with eminent operators in other countries. Meanwhile our search for high street sites in the UK continues apace and we have several new openings in the pipeline.” Coffee Republic, which recently announced a major deal with Shell to sell its Milan roast coffee across 400 forecourts in the UK, has refreshed its brand identity and bar interiors ahead of its planned business expansion.
