Daryl Cockerill, managing director of Charnwood Pub Company, has added a third pub to his free-of-tie pub venture Hillery & Scott.
The Horseshoe Inn at Uckington, Shropshire is franchised from Mitchells & Butlers and joins the Star Inn at West Leake, Leicestershire, and the Punch Bowl in Stamford, Lincolnshire, both free-of-tie private leases.
Cockerill said he and finance director Shane Holland aim to grow the Hillery & Scott estate to 10 sites over the next two years.
“Our philosophy is that Charnwood will eventually be broken up and sold, and we want to establish this free-of-tie estate to give us stability over the longer term.”
Cockerill formerly worked as a business development manager for Greene King and Laurel Pub Company. Charnwood is backed by Albion Ventures.
