PubAid, the body designed to promote the great work pubs do for charity, has welcomed two new members to its board: chief executive of the BII, Mike Clist and All Parliamentary Beer Group Honorary Secretary, Paul Hegarty.
The two join the board that already includes Keith Knowles and Tim Sykes from Beds and Bars, Nick Bish, ex-ALMR chief executive and PudAid chairman and previous managing director of Scottish and Newcastle, Des O’Flanagan.
O’Flanagan said: “It’s been a great year for the group. We’ve continued our work in getting the message that pubs raise over £100m for charity every year out there and quoted in the press. We organised the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz with 26,760 people taking part across 1044 pubs to raise £127,781.
“Now we’ve appointed to new members to the board, both hugely respected within our industry and fantastic additions to our group. 2016 / 2017 promises to be another busy year for the team who will be dedicating time to help the pub industry defend its reputation, promote the great work it does and celebrate the Great British Pub’s position within the fabric of our society.”
