City Pub Company, the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS)-funded pub operator founded by Clive Watson and David Bruce, is to launch its third brewhouse in Bath this September.

The group is currently refurbishing the recently acquired The Metropoitan in the city’s James Street West. It operates two further brewhouses in Henley and Cambridge.

The site, which will be the fifth operated in the group’s City Pub Company West vehicle, will feature a micro-brewery on site, a large ground floor bar and restaurant area plus a huge garden and function room.

The company, which was formed at the end of 2011 by former Capital Pub Company founders Watson and Bruce, appointed Alex Derrick as chief executive of City Pub Company West earlier this year.

So far the company has raised nearly £10m through its most recent round of fundraising.

The proceeds of the fundraisings will be used to finance further expansion of its pub estate, with the company on track to operate 20 sites by the end of next year.
