The City Pub Company, the Clive Watson-led group, has opened its seventh London pub following the extensive refurbishment of The Cock & Bottle in Notting Hill.

The free-of-tie leasehold pub, part of City Pub Company East, underwent a 12-week refurbishment during which the company added a 40-cover dining room on the first floor, restored the pub’s traditional interior and extended the kitchen.

In keeping with City Pub Company’s ethos, the pub serves a high quality, modern British food designed and prepared by award-winning chef James Howarth and offers a range of locally brewed craft ales and beers from the Portobello Brewery Co. in Shepherd’s Bush, Sambrook’s in Battersea and the company’s own Temple Brew House on the Strand.

Rupert Clark, chief executive of City Pub Company East, said: “The Cock & Bottle is an exceptional pub that we are proud to have as part of our growing London portfolio. The pub is full of character forming a central part of the local community and we have worked hard to retain its individual charm as part of the refurbishment. As with all of our pubs, The Cock & Bottle serves fantastic local beer and ales with high quality food and in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.”

The City Pub Company currently comprises City Pub Company East (11 pubs) and City Pub Company West (eight pubs).
