Charles Wells, the Bedford-based brewer and pub operator, is looking for individual and group acquisitions to grow its Pizza, Pots and Pints concept, M&C learnt.

The wood-fired pizza and comfort food concept was launched earlier this year in Cambridge at the Salisbury Arms pub, which is managed by Charles Wells.

Craig Mayes told M&C the plan is to add “a couple” more of these this year in the Charles Wells’ traditional heartland, without ruling out opportunities further afield for a suitable venue.

Mayes said the approach will be flexible and each pub - or company for a group acquisition - will be judged on its own merits.

The concept is built around one-pot meals– such as stews, curries and macaroni cheese as well as the artisan pizzas and beers.

The Salisbury Arms in Cambridge was brought into the company’s managed arm last year under the Seadog Inns banner.
