Charles Wells has launched a new licensed café concept in Stratford-upon-Avon with plans to roll it out.

The launch of The Pantry is the first phase of the re-development of the site by the company’s managed arm, Apostrophe Pubs, which took it over in September.

Dubbed as ‘not your average place to get a steaming hot, hand roasted cup of coffee’, The Pantry will offer traditional cakes, freshly baked bread, croissants and sandwiches, as well as fruit selections and salad bowls. There will also be wood roasted coffee, artisan teas, a selection of soft drinks and craft beer and wine.

Craig Mayes, director of Apostrophe Pubs, said “We’ve taken a bit of time getting to know the site and what the demand is from our guests and have come up with something unique and special.” We hope this will be the first of many Pantry’s.

Cox’s Yard is managed by Stuart Burbage, who said: “While Cox’s Yard has always provided great coffee and cakes for people meeting friends or taking a break from walking along the river, we wanted to evolve the idea a little further.”

Mel Smith, who will oversee the Pantry on a day to day basis, said “The Pantry is a result of speaking with customers about what they’d like us to offer and I’m looking forward to showing everyone around my Pantry.”

The Pantry will open from 8am until 8pm every day.
